A Heart Made Manifest

God stirs our hearts constantly.  He speaks.  He beckons.  He challenges.  He strengthens.  And always, He asks us to follow Him – sometimes into a cloud of uncertainty, but always into the light.

He promises us that by faith and trust in Him, “He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will manifest the motives of our hearts” (1 Cor. 4:5).

My Motive

Since graduating LSU in May 2010, I have spent the last year searching.  And while seeking new opportunities, career paths and ways to further my education, God has manifested a motive of my heart to serve His people in foreign lands.  For the month of April, I will be living at Liberia Mission Inc., a Catholic school and orphanage located in Liberia, West Africa.  My heart is bursting at the thought of meeting these kids.

I also feel God is calling me to share this experience with you through these blog entries.  It is such an honor to do so, and I hope God speaks to you in some way through these entries while serving the children of hope in Liberia.

What is Liberia Mission Inc?

LMI is dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for children and families through material and spiritual support and a Catholic education.  As a project of Mission Honduras International, LMI is located in Liberia, West Africa and is a community of love, learning, work and prayer. Here, poor and orphaned children – survivors of Liberia’s long and brutal civil war – are learning to become future leaders in their families, communities, and country. Liberia Mission includes homes for boys and girls, St. Anthony of Padua school, and St. Michael Catholic church. There are currently over 340 children served at Liberia Mission.

to my amazing family and friends who have been abounding in love, prayers and support throughout my decisions and preparations for this mission trip.  I love you all dearly and can’t wait to share my experience with you!

Be open, believe and be love.
